Marina di Alberese: the only beach in the Maremma Park, without a single building in sight
Inside the Maremma Regional Park, Alberese beach is one of the most unspoiled stretches of sandy coast left in Tuscany, protected precisely because it's so rare.

Inside the Maremma Regional Park, Marina di Alberese beach falls within the Dune dell'Uccellina site of regional interest, protected because it represents one of the few stretches of sandy coast left almost untouched in Tuscany, free of buildings and with its dune vegetation left to its natural course.
It's reached from the Alberese visitor centre, the obligatory starting point for finding your way around the park: from here a cycle path leads to the beach and the mouth of the Ombrone river, and there's also an accessible route designed for visitors with reduced mobility, running to the river mouth. Access is regulated — checking in at the visitor centre before setting off avoids surprises, especially during peak months.
Beyond the sea, the park offers horse riding and canoe trips, as well as guided walks through the Mediterranean scrub that characterises this stretch of the Maremma. It's an environment meant to be visited at a different pace from the equipped beaches along the coast: no beach clubs, no car parks right by the shore, just dunes and pine forest down to the water.
Precisely because it's a protected area with regulated access, Alberese beach stays less crowded even at the height of summer compared to other stretches of the Maremma coast, though it does take a bit more planning to reach.
