How to get to Pisa: train, car and Tuscany's main airport
Pisa has Tuscany's main airport and a station on five railway lines: it is among the easiest cities in the region to reach.

Pisa Centrale, with around 15 million passengers a year, is one of Tuscany's busiest stations: five lines converge here, including the Genoa-Pisa (Tyrrhenian) line, the Pisa-Livorno-Florence line and the Lucca-Pisa line, with direct connections to Florence, Livorno, Lucca and Liguria. From the station, the Leaning Tower and Piazza dei Miracoli are a comfortable twenty-minute walk away, or a short bus ride.
By car, Pisa is served by the A11-A12 motorway junction, a natural crossroads between the Ligurian coast, Florence and the Versilia.
Pisa's real strength, though, is its airport: Pisa International Airport "Galileo Galilei", about 2 km from the city centre, is Tuscany's main gateway — with more than double the passenger traffic of Florence's airport — and is linked to the central station by the PisaMover, an automated people mover running every 5-8 minutes.
