How to get to Treviso

Treviso is one of the most accessible cities in Veneto, thanks to its proximity to Venice and its own international airport. A city of waterways and medieval arcades, it can be reached conveniently by any means of transport. Here is the complete guide to planning your trip.

By train

**Treviso Centrale station** is just a few minutes' walk from the old town and is well connected with the main cities of north-east Italy. From **Venice Santa Lucia** or **Venice Mestre**, Trenitalia regional trains take about 25-35 minutes, departing every 15-20 minutes.

From **Padua**, regional trains take about 60 minutes. From **Milan Centrale**, you can arrive in about 3 hours with a change at Venice Mestre, or in about 2 hours 40 minutes by taking the Frecciarossa to Venice and then a regional train.

From **Rome Termini** the journey takes about 4 hours via Frecciarossa to Venice Mestre and a regional connection. From **Bologna** you arrive in about 2 hours 30 minutes.

Local tip

**Treviso Centrale** station has been recently renovated. On leaving, follow Viale IV Novembre: in 10 minutes you will be under the arcades of Via Calmaggiore, the heart of the city.

By car

Treviso sits at the junction of the **A27 motorway** (Venice-Belluno) and the **ring road** connecting to the **A4** (Turin-Trieste). From Milan, take the A4 for about 3 hours; from Bologna the A13 then the A4 for about 2 hours 30 minutes; from Trieste the A4 for about 90 minutes.

Recommended exits are **Treviso Sud** and **Treviso Nord** on the A27. From the A4, exit at **Quinto di Treviso** or **Treviso Est**.

Parking

The old town is largely a limited traffic zone (ZTL). Best car parks are **Parcheggio Cantarane** (paid, near Porta San Tomaso), **Parcheggio ex Pattinodromo** (free, 10 minutes' walk from the centre) and **Parcheggio Fiera** (free on non-event days). Blue-line street parking costs about 1.50 euros/hour.

By plane

**Treviso Antonio Canova Airport** (TSF) is just 3 km from the centre and is one of Italy's most important low-cost hubs, a Ryanair base with flights across Europe.

From the airport, **ACTT bus line 6** reaches Treviso station in about 10 minutes (ticket about 1.50 euros). A taxi costs about 15 euros.

**Venice Marco Polo Airport** (VCE) is about 25 km away and can be reached by **Barzi Service bus** in about 40 minutes (ticket about 12 euros). Alternatively, a taxi takes about 30 minutes for about 60-70 euros.

Local tip

If you land at Canova on a late flight, check the last bus time: after 10pm a taxi is your best bet. The airport is so close that even a taxi ride stays affordable.

By bus

**MOM** (Mobilità di Marca) intercity lines connect Treviso with provincial towns and with Venice, Padua and Belluno. The **bus station** is next to the railway station.

**FlixBus** connects Treviso with Milan, Rome, Florence and many other Italian and European cities, stopping at the station forecourt.

From Venice Piazzale Roma, direct ATVO buses take about 45 minutes.

Local transport

Treviso's old town is compact and perfect for walking: from the station to the Cathedral takes 15 minutes, to the Pescheria on the island just 12.

**MOM** urban buses cover the entire city and inner suburbs. A single ticket costs about 1.50 euros and can be bought at newsagents, tobacconists or via app.

**Bike sharing** is available with several stations in the centre. Treviso is flat and perfect for exploring by bicycle along the banks of the Sile and Cagnan rivers.
