How to get to Atrani: all the ways to reach the Amalfi Coast village
Atrani is the smallest municipality in southern Italy, a hidden gem on the Amalfi Coast adjacent to Amalfi. Reaching this fishing village requires a bit of planning, as the Coast is not the easiest area to navigate by public transport. Here are all the options.
Nearest airports to Atrani
Naples Capodichino Airport (NAP)
This is the nearest airport, about 65 km away. From the airport, you reach central Naples by Alibus shuttle (Piazza Garibaldi or Port stop). From Naples, continue to Salerno by train and from there to Atrani by bus.
Salerno Costa d'Amalfi Airport (QSR)
The small Salerno-Pontecagnano airport, about 35 km from Atrani, has begun receiving commercial flights. Connected to Salerno by shuttle bus. From Salerno, you reach Atrani by SITA bus.
Rome Fiumicino Airport (FCO)
About 300 km away, an alternative for those arriving from abroad. From Roma Termini, high-speed trains to Salerno take about 2 hours.
By bus: the main means on the Coast
The SITA Sud bus is the most used means of transport along the Amalfi Coast.
From Salerno
SITA buses depart from Salerno station (Piazza della Concordia, near the railway station) and travel the entire Coast. The stop for Atrani is on the main road, a few steps from the village. The journey from Salerno to Atrani takes about 1 hour 15 minutes. Frequency is one bus every 30-60 minutes.
